Have you ever asked yourself, how do I want to live?
This question is rather simple, so simple in fact that we put it aside. However, asking yourself this question frequently may be perhaps one of the most important things you can do.
What you do every day goes according to your values, beliefs or your vision?
Over the last decade, the use of the term vision has increased significantly. We have seen how companies adopt their mission and vision. Thanks to this, these two words have been given the reputation of only having practical use when creating a company, corporation or organization, thus forgetting the power it possesses to create our lives.
The definition of vision, according to the Spanish Royal Academy, is: “action and effect of seeing”. In other words, having a vision creates an effect which is responsible for the perception of your reality.
At this moment I want you to do a brief introspection and ask yourself: how do I want to live? Am I living authentically and passionately? How do I know if my goals are aligned with my soul? Am I contributing to the welfare of my community?
Maybe you don’t have all the answers well defined, maybe your heart started to catch on but you couldn’t put the words to that feeling. I have good news: identifying that flame within you is the first and most important step to create a vision that motivates you.
Within you there is a desire to become someone who contributes rather than consumes; someone victorious rather than victimized.
To identify your vision, you must become a person who has a mindset of abundance.
“There will always be more.” If this phrase resonated with you, you may have an abundant mind. “There will never be enough.” If this phrase resonated with you, you may have a mentality of scarcity.
One mentality brings you closer to your goals while the other makes the illusion of the same but it scares you away. Which one would you choose?
In abundance, we grow exponentially. In scarcity, we rot.
After changing your mindset, your reality must change accordingly. You start to see your surroundings as if it were for the first time. Suddenly, opportunities never before imagined arise. Everything seems colored and everything starts to make sense. But this is not enough, you must tie your mindset with your feelings. What made your heart beat faster? How can you replicate that feeling again? The next step is to act.
Acting according to your heart is one of the most difficult things that exist. Today, the system is made so that you are the same as others, that you have the same qualifications as everyone, that you go through tests to show that you know the same information as the person next to you because if you don’t…you become less. Remember, everyone wants every-one to be the same.
This way we make the machine and its gears work according to someone else’s goals.
I dare you to break those gears.
As you begin to act according to your values, principles and your heart you begin to attract those moments for which it is worth living.
Once you give your mind a vision that pushes you, something magical happens: it is as if the universe is conspiring in your favor to meet your goals. You start to become that person you always wanted to be.
In addition to becoming the best version of yourself by acting according to your values, you also do it by visualizing your best day.
Ask yourself this question frequently:
What is my ideal day?
Judy Garland, actress in numerous musical films, gave us this phrase with which I want to end:
“May you always be the number one version of you, never let yourself become the number two version of someone else”
When you enter a supermarket you are in contact with more than 35 thousand brands in less than an hour and all of them are trying to make you do what they want.
Every time you drive down the street and turn to see ads or when you use Facebook, you are being bombarded with thousands and thousands of messages and your mission becomes theirs.
If you do not have a clear vision that speaks to your heart, you will end up being the second version of someone else.
Do you want to grow exponentially and have the tools used by the most successful people to live their lives according to their vision?
