I’ve had an awakening realization about life. I believe you can, too.
I’ve come to realize that our conception of what we are, who we are, and what we’re doing on this cosmic journey is completely wrong.
Last month, I had the privilege of hosting Neil deGrasse Tyson for an in-depth conversation on consciousness, space, and our place in the universe.
He said something so simple yet so profound:
“We’re all the same, really. Our atoms are traceable to stars that manufactured them in their core, exploded, scattered that enrichment across the Galaxy — from which you have next generations of star systems — one of which was the solar system. So we are Stardust, that came together on a planet achieving consciousness, and this is profound.
We have genetic connectivity with each other and all life on Earth, we have molecular connectivity to the Earth itself, an atomic connectivity to the cosmos.“
“We are made of stars.”
That message, in itself, struck a chord deep within me that understood its meaning to the fullest: we are not apart from nature, we are nature.
A sudden realization overrode me with joy and awe. Emotions emerged that allowed me to appreciate that we are genuinely connected to everything.
I realized that life does not happen to you — you happen to life because YOU ARE LIFE.
This is not my typical email, but I wish this message gives you a renewed sense of who we are as a species, and that it ignites within you feelings of optimism and awakens a deep desire to live life to its fullest — while making it happen to other people as well.
